Programme 2016

Building on four years of high-quality visual and performing arts events, the 2016 festival brings together new collaborative partnerships between various art forms, involving professionals and students inspired by great Florentines - past and present - to create ongoing lively discussions for today and into the future.

For the fifth consecutive year, we are delighted to receive the prestigious patronage of the Comune di Firenze, The Florentine, and Rete Toscana Classica.  For the first time, we welcome the new support of the European School of Economics, and the association Fiorentini nel Mondo.

The two-week programme includes three exhibitions, five concerts, two Holy Masses, seven guided tours, four art workshops, and the screening of a new film exploring the life of Don Alessandro Pacchia, who is celebrating 50 years of service at the Duomo.

This year, Festa della Cultura San Giovanni Battista, a non-profit initiative, will support an ancient Florentine church and two community organisations, as it continues to present original events in unique locations which benefit local groups in a spirit of communal cultural appreciation in celebration of the Feast of the Patron Saint of Florence.
